I'm about to graduate with my bachelor's in Computer Science, and it is time to find a job. What kind of salaries can I expect? I think I've generally heard about $50k. Also, are there generally any signing bonuses? If so, how much are they generally?
Entry level computer science pay and signing bonus?
I have never heard of a signing bonus, but yes they do generally get around that 50k area but that really depends on the area. In high tech areas like silicon valley you can demand more money if you get into a good company.
Reply:The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Reply:Signing bonuses? I have not seen in this field.
Entry level salaries would vary from below 50kUSD to slightly above that.
Certifications, lauguage familiarity and other factors could change this.
