For a graduate fresh out of university, most jobs will offer around £18k but obviously this is dependent upon location, experience, industry, how well you interview, your personal skills and the list goes on...
However, except this amount to go up sharply after a couple of years commercial experience.
Pesonally, I started on £18k and more than double my wages after 2 years when I moved to a new company, though I'm a DBA. As a rule of thumb, the further towards the backend you specialise, the more you get paid. Database most, server side programmers, client side programmers then web programmers get the least.

Also bearing in mind that UK is one of the worlds most tax charging country so you can imagine that they will charge you an immense amount of tax depending on your salary. the more you earn the more these stupid people charge
