Macbook or PC laptop for Computer Science student?

Hi!. Im going to start computer science and i wanted to buy a laptop for uni. Should i buy a PC or Mac. Thinking abt buying a vaio or macbook.

Heyy all these other guys are computer geeks. Ya know? i'm a student age 16. And i have a macbook i can tell you i really love it you would do. Its great for creating assignments, typing, presantations that kind of stuff. Thyre fast an dont get viruses and thyre tons of stuff to have fun with when your not working. Highly reccomended
Reply:You'll get more for your money with a MacBook. A Sony Vaio can only run Windows while the MacBook can run both Mac OS X and Windows XP or Vista. I'm running Mac OS X and Windows Vista on my MacBook Pro. These are very versatile notebooks. It's like getting two machines for the price of one. In any case, I prefer using Mac OS X. Vista is okay, but it's nowhere near as sophisticated as Mac OS X.

Reply:Well, i guess buying a PC laptop is better for u. after a while u may think about switching between different operating systems the PC laptop would work for many of this.


But if u one of this guys who like graphics most, so macbook would be the best choice.

Reply:comp science laptop.... well. current fastest ram on a laptop is 2GB which i have. i own the HP-dv6449us . which runs on a amd turion 64x2 tech. which is fast compared to others. and runs on a nvidia graphics card. its 899.99 right now.


or go to www.gamestop.com and go to laptops. they have good ones there but many might be more expensive with less gigs and ram oh the Hp has 140HD.











if you have time wait till the start of next year the QUAD-core will be releasing (quad core is used in hard-core gaming pcs)


and will be 2x faster then the core-duo.








the G5 macbook is nice too but more things are incompatible.





also HP-6449 has the ability for video creation saving at 1080p and 720 HD.





right now mac has a online sale on mac-books that come with a free NANO if your a student.

the mac-os to windows is a new feature currently avaiable only on LEAPORD


macs new OS. so you can download something that works on windows only on the windows os part then switch over to mac instantly and to something there.
Reply:DONT GET ThE VAIO! i bought one recently and it sucked. As for your question, it depends. Macs are good for school, but they are not compatable with anything! Macs do everything for you instead of a pc where you have to build it yourself. I would go with pc just because of the compadibility issues
Reply:You should get a PC instead of a Mac, especially if you're a Computer Science student. I would highly recommend a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.
