How important is GPA with a computer science degree?

I am in college going for a CS degree, how much do employers take college GPA into consideration? My GPA is low because I had to take 2 years of german. Will companies not want to hire me because I had a D in german II, or will they not even care because that has nothing to do with any job I will get.

I have been lead to beleive it's the degree that is important not the GPA.especially after you are working it will be performance that counts.
Reply:When you interview, point it out for them. If they are concerned about your GPA they will ask about it...at least from my experience. Good employers / interviewers know there is much more to a job candidate than a GPA.
